Biography
Bañares (PhD 1992, U.
of Salamanca, with Prof. Fierro); postdoctoral fellow at Lehigh U.,
(Prof. Wachs) and at the U. of Notre Dame (Profs. Fehlner and Wolf). He is Research Professor and leader of the Catalytic Spectroscopy Laboratory. Bañares
focuses in the combination of activity measurement with spectroscopy of
catalysts at work (coined by him as “operando”
methodology). He is the Chairman ESF COST Action D36, Associate Editor for Catalysis Today and serves several editorial
boards (Catal. Today, Catal. Letters, Top. Catal., among others) and organizes
several conferences (Operando
