Nanostructured DNA biosensors based on artificial nucleic acid analogs.

DNA research has constituted one of the strongest fields
in the last decades. The development of DNA-based biosensors
drives to more sensitive and reliable detection systems that yield
better, faster and more accurate results. In this way, the use of
some biomimetic compounds can bring new properties that allow
the enhancement of the main limiting points in DNA biosensors,
the PCR amplification and fluorescence markers limitations. A
label-free electrochemical system for the DNA detection based on
its reaction with a peptide nucleic acid (PNA) is presented.
